East LA College

Founded in 1945, East Los Angeles College ranks the 13th in the state for students transfer to the University of California and ranks the 4th in California for adult learners. The ELAC Athletics Program provides exciting opportunities for student athletes in numerous sports including football, swimming, track, and field.

The college's 88-acre campus is located 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in suburban Monterey Park. ELAC’s focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement) is evident in the 120,000 SF Science Career & Mathematics Complex (SCMC). Finishing the SCMC will complete the east-west campus quad, which also includes the Campus Student Center Bookstore and the Ernest H. Moreno Language Arts and Humanities building - the State of California’s largest classroom building.

Physics & Earth Sciences Building

The 26,000 square-foot, two-story, LEED-Certified Gold Physics and Earth Sciences building is part of the new campus quad which includes the Campus Student Center Bookstore and the Ernest H. Moreno Language Arts and Humanities building. This building offers five classrooms and six laboratories.

Small Contractor Boot Camp - Spring 2023

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Small Contractor Boot Camp is a four-session program designed specifically for small contractors to improve their competitive bidding capacity. Through a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum, small contractors will learn more about the pre-qualification process for the Pre-Qualified Service Provider (PQSP) bench contracts for projects ranging from $25K - $5M, how to bid for work, and successfully execute BuildLACCD construction projects. LACCD’s $14.9 billion building program seeks to modernize and renovate projects throughout its nine colleges. The Board of Trustees established a 30% Local, Small, Emerging, and Disabled Veteran (LSEDV) participation goal for all BuildLACCD contracts. This provides numerous opportunities for LSEDV businesses to participate on the program. The District also seeks and encourages minority, women and LGBTQ business participation.
