August 13, 2018-Los Angeles Community College District officials joined the design-build team, Harper Construction Co. and Sillman Wright Architect officials for a
special ceremony celebrating a construction milestone for the School of Science Building at Los Angeles Southwest College. The new, $16 million School of Science is an environmentally friendly,
27,000-square-foot, two-story building funded by 2008’s $3.5 billion Measure J for the modernization, renovation and new construction of LACCD facilities. The building
will feature state-of-the art labs, classrooms and a rooftop observatory or students and faculty to gather. The School of Science building is expected to
open in Fall 2019.
